role and responsibilitiesThe SAP HANA Project Manager is
responsible for leading and managing projects related to the
implementation of transformational SAP HANA solutions. This role
involves coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring project
alignment with business objectives, and delivering projects on
time, within scope, and budget. The SAP HANA Project Manager serves
as a key liaison between stakeholders, technical teams, and
business units to drive successful outcomes.This job can be
performed from anywhere in the US.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope,
timelines, resource allocation, and budget.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
in alignment with business goals.
- Execute and monitor project activities to ensure adherence to
timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead cross-functional teams, including SAP consultants,
developers, architects, and business analysts.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance to ensure
team alignment and productivity.
- Foster collaboration and communication among team members and
stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders,
including business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment
with SAP HANA capabilities.
- Provide regular project updates, status reports, and risk
assessments to stakeholders.
- SAP HANA Implementation and Optimization:
- Oversee the end-to-end implementation of SAP HANA solutions,
including system design, configuration, testing, and
deployment.
- Ensure integration of SAP HANA with existing systems and
applications.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system
optimizations to maximize SAP HANA performance.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues early in the project
lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve conflicts and roadblocks that may impact project
progress or deliverables.
- Change Management and Training:
- Collaborate with change management teams to support user
adoption and minimize disruption during system transitions.
- Coordinate training programs for end-users and stakeholders to
ensure effective use of SAP HANA solutions.
- Develop documentation, including user guides and process
manuals, to support ongoing operations.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure
cost-effective resource utilization.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-party
vendors or consultants as needed.
- Optimize resource allocation to balance workload and project
demands.
- Quality Assurance and Delivery:
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and fulfill
business requirements.
- Oversee testing phases, including unit, integration, and user
acceptance testing (UAT).
- Facilitate project sign-off and post-implementation reviews to
evaluate success and lessons learned.Required technical and
professional expertiseTechnical Expertise List:
- Enterprise Digital Transformation Programs:
- SAP HANA Implementation and Optimization: Expertise in
deploying and configuring SAP HANA platforms for large-scale
digital transformation initiatives.
- S/4HANA Migration and Integration: Proficiency in migrating
legacy SAP systems (e.g., ECC) to S/4HANA and integrating with
cloud or hybrid environments.
- Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud-based SAP solutions (e.g.,
SAP Cloud Platform, HANA Enterprise Cloud) and their role in
digital transformation.
- Digital Transformation Frameworks: Understanding of frameworks
like SAP Activate or TOGAF for driving enterprise-wide
transformation.
- Global Leadership and Program Management:
- Program Management Tools: Proficiency in tools like SAP
Solution Manager, Microsoft Project, or Jira for managing complex,
global SAP HANA projects.
- Agile and DevOps Methodologies: Expertise in Agile (Scrum,
SAFe) and DevOps practices for delivering SAP projects in iterative
cycles.
- Global Delivery Models: Knowledge of managing distributed teams
across geographies, including onshore, offshore, and nearshore
models.
- Risk Management Tools: Familiarity with risk management
platforms and techniques to identify, assess, and mitigate project
risks.
- SAP Activate Methodology: Expertise in SAP's project management
methodology for accelerated SAP HANA implementations.Preferred
technical and professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree
preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5
years focused on SAP HANA or SAP-related projects.IBM is committed
