Job Description:

The Principal Data Architect, Fleet Asset Backed Securitization provides technical leadership and hands on implementation on the Fleet Securitization team and is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of a data model and data integration strategy that is aligned with Treasury needs, reflects best practices and increases option value for the Treasury business unit. The position is required to interpret, use and apply their knowledge and expertise in data architecture to enhance and optimize Hertz's Fleet Financing System, which manages the Asset Backed Securities (ABS) used to finance the majority of the Hertz vehicle fleet. The role is responsible for creating and maintaining data models, enhancing and creating data pipelines and designing associated components related to data transformation, data quality, reporting and analytics. The role is expected to ensure that the data, integration and analytics architecture complies with overall portfolio standards and is designed for appropriate extensibility, security and quality. The Data Architect also serves as a subject matter expert informing data governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead data architecture and implementation efforts to structure, integrate, govern, store, describe, model, and maintain data related to fleet financing for optimal accuracy and usage
* Provide leadership, guidance and coordinate development and deployment of data and analytics related projects for the fleet financing team
* Understand current enterprise data quality capabilities and strive for continuous improvement
* Work with data governance committee to help define data related policies and procedures and their enforcement
* Use visual modeling tools for defining data architectures
* Collaborate with wider portfolio community in sharing best practices, lessons learned. Constantly updates the data architecture based on evolving technologies and products.
* Review and provide guidance related to data security, retention and archival.
* Understand and communicate data requirements related to future infrastructure needs, working with other IT architects (in-house, partners and vendors) to develop an approach that fits the current and planned needs of the organization.
* Set up and manage Master Data, 3rd party data sets and other configuration in Fleet Financing application
* Support and troubleshoot data-intensive processes including Vehicle Depreciation, Collateral & Borrowing Optimization, and Mark to Market Forecasting.
* Support SOX and ABS AUP Audits
* Develop calculations as required for downstream processes and reports.

Educational Background:

* Degree in computer science, quantitative or computational finance, or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

* 12+ years of experience in IT
* 10+ years of experience with SQL
* 5+ years of experience with Teradata
* 8+ years of experience with relational and dimensional database modelling
* 5+ years of experience with visual modelling tools using UML or Entity Relationship Diagrams
* 3+ years of experience as a senior individual contributor, team technical leadership or similar role
* Strong experience designing and deploying full stack data analytics platforms including the use of data warehouse technologies and BI and data visualization tools
* Strong experience with both real-time and batch pipelines-based data integration frameworks
* Experience in full life cycle of complex software deployment projects using structured methodologies including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall Software Development Life Cycle
* Thoughtful practitioner of software engineering methodologies, frameworks and tools
* Strong experience architecting and deploying cloud enabled data solutions

Preferred Experience:

* 5+ years of experience with Informatica ETL tools
* Strong experience with AWS cloud data services
* Experience with ER/Studio, ERWin, or Sparx Enterprise Architect
* Development experience in Python, R, Java, or Scala
* Experience with Oracle, DB2, and MS SQL Server
* 5+ years of experience implementing Asset Backed Securitization (ABS), such as vehicle securitization, mortgage securitization or similar
* 5+ years of experience working with Finance/Treasury systems, investment banking systems, complex bonds, derivatives, financial risk management, or similar
