Renal Extractables & Leachables (E&L) team applies analytical
expertise to sustain life saving products on the market and ensure
progression of the diverse product portfolio of Baxter's Renal Care
business. This position will provide analytical and technical
support for E&L and Impurities compliance projects.
Specifically, this candidate will assist Baxter subject matter
experts by performing routine laboratory activities (e.g., solution
preparation, instrumental analysis, laboratory upkeep) with the
opportunity for continued growth into new responsibilities as the
candidate expands their knowledge and skills. What you'll be doing
Perform experiments to assist in method development and method
validation, specifically for impurity and E&L analyses within
specified timelines. Perform chemical analyses in support of
E&L screening studies, unknown compound identification, and
impurities evaluations to align with regulatory or internal
requirements for Renal products. Generate scientific experimental
data following written procedures including protocols and standard
operating procedures (SOPs). Perform labware cleaning, sample
preparation, reagent, and standard preparations supporting various
laboratory activities. Responsible for general laboratory upkeep
and maintenance of laboratory activities. Participate in
troubleshooting of analytical methods, laboratory investigations,
etc. Learn technical theories and principles from Baxter SME's and
apply to projects performed within the group. Learn various
analytical techniques to contribute to the changing needs of
impurity and E&L studies. Provide support as needed in
calibration and maintenance of equipment in the laboratory.
Document laboratory work performed per Baxter's GDP and general
good laboratory practices (GLP). Work according to appropriate
quality standards and quality principle (e.g., Data Integrity,
ALCOA). Follow Baxter's Quality Manual, SOPs, and Environmental
Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) guidelines in
day-to-day activities, to ensure proactive compliance and
continuous improvement. What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in
chemistry (analytical/organic chemistry preferred) or other
relevant subject areas with 2+years of related experience.
Operation of analytical tools/ instruments (weighing balances, pH
meters etc.) and wet chemistry sample preparation techniques.
Background in analytical chemistry and laboratory practices from
education and/or previous employment experience is desired. Should
have an analytical problem-solving approach, high learning agility,
and an innovative experimental attitude along with good
presentation skills. Demonstrates an inclusive demeanor and an
ability to collaborate with team members and cross-functional team
members for project timelines. Ability to objectively assess,
prioritize, and clearly communicate information. Ability to plan
and complete the assigned work to meet project deliverables in a
timely manner. Provide and accept critical feedback from others in
a constructive manner. We understand compensation is an important
factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we
are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive
to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this
position has a base salary range of $52,800 to $132,000 plus an
annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected
base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary
based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant
skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and
geographic/office location. The successful candidate for this job
