Vernon Hills, IL, United StatesThe Industrial Specialist in the
Pro- Industrial channel is responsible for selling and servicing
our industrial product line to our National MRO accounts, Dealers,
Distributors, Contractors and end Users. We are seeking a driven
individual that possesses an analytical approach to solving
challenges, territory planning, and demonstrates excellent
interpersonal skills. This individual will work from a home-based
office. Travel to accounts for 50% - 60% of the time within the
Midwest. *Interested candidates must reside in and/or self-relocate
to the assigned Midwestern territory. Responsibilities include:
- Manages new business prospects, making sales calls to existing
and potential accounts for the purpose of developing and growing
our industrial coatings in the Protective and Marine focus
markets.
- Works with local Area Managers to prospect for new business,
grow existing accounts and get products specified for projects by
working with Architects and Engineers.
- Conducts trainings and product demonstrations to educate our
specified end Users.
- Communicates with professional contractors and end users about
what products to use, and how Rust-Oleum provides unique industry
solutions.
- Manges relationships with Rust-Oleum Category Management,
Logistics team, Brand team, Trade Marketing, Customer Service and
Finance to include concise direction and expectations.
- Collaborates and work with our cross functional sales,
marketing and corporate teams for success. Required Skills and
Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or
equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 4 years of industrial coating experience. SSPC and/or
NACE certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales service role with
demonstrated success in customer retention.
- Ability to understand pricing, calculate discounts, and profit
associated with selling price; ability to calculate commissions
associated with territory performance.
- Ability to analyze territory performance reports and develop
sales territory business plans.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills - dealing with customer
complaints in a timely manner to identify appropriate
solutions.
- Requires appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively
analyze a customer's business and successfully communicate how our
products and services can meet and/or exceed their needs.
- Ability to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts,
draw valid conclusions, and write reports to communicate the
information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
- Availability to work and travel within assigned territory
50-60% of the time. Periodic evening and weekend hours required for
Co-Op Shows and customer events.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License and have maintained a
motor vehicle record within acceptable limits Rust-Oleum is an
