Sr. Systems Engineer

Rust-Oleum Corporation is a worldwide leader in protective paints and coatings for both home and industry. We offer a wide product range including decorative fashion paints, durable industrial roof repair coatings and, of course, the famous rust-fighting formula that started it all.

Hands-on senior level engineer in Azure, Compute, Vmware Virtualization, Storage and Windows Server with expert level ability to design, develop and architect technology solutions in a multi-billion dollar global company. Position includes responsibilities for Computing and storage environments in a Hybrid Azure Cloud and on premise architecture.

Our hybrid work environment includes two (2) remote days/week.

Sr. Systems Engineer:

Microsoft (10+ Years)

• Microsoft Active Directory deployment comprised of geo-distributed topologies serving 24X7 production resources. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of expert level knowledge for AD domain services and all related integrated services, including PKI, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and cross domain trusts.
• Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems engineering and support as related to app Integrations, virtualization, and security hardening.
• Microsoft SQL 2016-2019 deployment and management for standalone and always-on configurations. The ideal candidate will have experience with database turn up, import/export, and configuration for always-on availability.
• Experience with SCCM administration of server operating systems
• MS PowerShell automation for enterprise-wide change management Infrastructure (10+ Years)
  • VMware vSphere 6-7.x design, deployment and sustainment of highly available compute clusters used for 24X7 production resources.
  • Horizon View engineering and support, including VDI image creation and optimization for both persistent and linked clone pool architectures.
  • X86 server engineering and support for highly available compute clusters
  • FC SAN storage engineering and support for highly available X86 compute clusters
  • Disaster Recovery engineering and support for virtualized workloads, leveraging VMware Site Recovery and array-based replication. Cloud (3-5+ Years)
    • Azure Active Directory engineering for a geo-dispersed topology comprised of multiple companies within a single tenant.
    • Experience with engineering CASB solutions- Identity Management, including MFA, Conditional Access, PIM, Risk based Policies, RBAC, IAM, and device compliance.
    • App registration and security hardening for both cloud/on-prem integrations
    • Experience with Azure Purview and Data Loss Prevention concepts in a cloud-centric environment
    • IaaS/PaaS engineering experience with the deployment and management of azure backed solutions.
    • Familiarity with Azure EA subscription model and how subscriptions are created.
    • Experience with M365 licensing model, including EMSE3-EMSE5 (EMS E5 Preferred but not mandatory) and related step up packages The Ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of enterprise level experience with global infrastructures serving 24x7 manufacturing facilities, has deployed and manage hundreds of VMs for prod/test/dev environments, possess expert knowledge of AD domain services and related components, and make enterprise wide changes in a planned, and orchestrated fashion. Must be able to adapt to dynamic requirements, complex interdependent applications, with rapidly evolving project goals. This is a hands on role in engineering and implementation within Hybrid environments.
      
      The role requirements are for individuals who are experienced in multiple technology stacks who have the ability to apply their knowledge and skills across those stacks to engineer and implement solutions using industry best practices. This position is not only vertical but horizontal end to end design. The core concentration is server level compute and storage with associated security for on premise and Azure. Additional beneficial knowledge in networking, environment builds for applications, L3 level support and critical thinking.
      
      This is a Sr. level technical position working alongside engineers with 20+ years in the field. Architecture and Implementation roles. The position requires a strong desire to learn and a high level of drive to go after problems and design solutions with deep skills at the enterprise level. Application of best practices, considerable up front research and development to implement designs which integrate well and deliver as expected.

      Job Duties:
      
      Key Accountability
      • Design and engineering, work with state of the art compute, virtualization and storage systems on premise and Azure
      • Design and develop computing systems architecture to meet demands of the business.
      • Evaluate the current and upcoming infrastructure stack from a security perspective and provide hardening recommendations.
      • Virtualization and Windows optimization & performance
      • Active Directory global consolidations
      • Coordinates and supports information security efforts in computer, virtualization, storage and Azure
      • Scripting and automation
      • Business acquisition technology audits and recommendations for integrations on compute, virtualization, storage, AD for acquired businesses
      • Systems management and alerting
      • Disaster and Site Recovery
      • Experience with F5 Big IP, LTM, GTM, ASM a plus
        Job Education and Experience
        
        10 + years in an IT engineering role in corporations or in consulting services in companies with $1-$3B+ in annual revenue.
        
        BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent education. Security, Azure certifications are a plus.
