Job Description:
Medline is doing it again. We adding to our Information Services
team. Our tremendous growth - 53 of the past 54 years have resulted
in DOUBLE DIGIT growth - has enabled us to add a Splunk Systems
Administrator onto our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. Check
us out! (Though we are currently working remote due to Covid, this
position will be based in our Mundelein, IL corporate office once
we return to the office. This individual will work in Mundelein 2-3
days per week, and can work from home or from the office the other
days) JOB SUMMARY The System Administrator will configure, enhance,
troubleshoot, and maintain Splunk Enterprise infrastructure
including servers, agents, cloud infrastructure, and process. MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES Operations Install, configure, maintain, and
support Splunk Enterprise as a critical application in an
enterprise environment Install and configure Splunk agents on Linux
and Windows servers Maintain and improve internal syslog functions
and Splunk apps for using syslog data Correlate data between
applications, including Splunk, Solarwinds and Talend. Create,
maintain, and use dashboards to prevent outages and increase
availability Collaborate with teams within I/S to implement
monitoring system and process that support business goals Identify,
troubleshoot and resolve system and application related issues.
Advocate, demonstrate, and champion the use of NOC and monitoring
capabilities within Medline Configure and troubleshoot Linux/unix
server operation systems on physical and virtual hardware.
Configure and troubleshoot Windows server operating systems on
physical and virtual hardware. Monitor the performance of and
maintain stability of server and application platforms. Perform
preventative maintenance tasks. Engage and work with software and
hardware vendors to remediate identified issues and defects. Some
weekend work may be required; participate in an on-call rotation if
necessary Process Define and implement standards for monitoring and
alerting of infrastructure and application issues. Define, support,
and advance best practices for infrastructure and application
support. Understand and adhere to ITIL best practices like incident
management, change management, event management, and problem
management. Participate in major incident management processes. Be
a champion of best practices for high availability of
infrastructure and applications COVID-19 Vaccination Please be

User certification or equivalent is a plus Work Experience 3+ years
supporting Splunk Enterprise in a multi-application environment
Solid troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. 3+ years of
experience on an operations teams in a demanding fast-paced
environment Demonstrated experience with IT Service Management
processes, such as incident management and change management.
Experience with Solarwinds monitoring software. Knowledge / Skills
/ Abilities Strong problem isolation, resolution, analytical and
diagnostic skills. General knowledge of IT networks, ISP Services,
Routing Protocols, VoIP, Network Management, Routers, and Switches.
General knowledge of Advanced Windows System Administration and
VMWare Systems. Strong interpersonal/customer-facing skills. Good
communication skills both written and verbal. PREFERRED JOB
REQUIREMENTS Education Bachelor%26rsquo;s Degree in Computer
Science, Information Systems, or other related field or an
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Certification / Licensure Splunk Enterprise Certified Administrator
or Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect Solarwinds Certified
Professional or 3+ years administering Solarwinds ITIL Foundations
(V3) or higher Cisco CCNA or Network+ MCSA A+ Work Experience
Experience with VMware virtual server infrastructure including
Vcenter and VRealize Operations Experience with cloud based
architecture and best practices Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
