As a result of our growth, we're adding an Business Application Systems Administrator to provide escalated monitoring, maintenance and support of our systems. This will include performance monitoring, tuning, automating, and security. The Systems Administrator will keep management, other team members and frontline technical support aware of root cause analysis, obstacles and status of changes in timely manner and uses proper judgment to determine when such communication is necessary. This person will also provide technical support to Operations and Business Application Teams while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. They are also consistently able to interact professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees.
(Though we are currently working remote due to Covid, this position will be based in our Mundelein, IL office once we return to the office)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide 24 hour support and alarm reporting utilizing network monitoring and surveillance software.
Perform installation and upgrades of all hardware, network and application level monitoring software and/or appliances.
While responding to incidents, carefully track and document all issues and resolutions in detail.
When issues are too large or complex for quick troubleshooting, issues will be escalated to management, other IT resources or 3rd party vendors for assistance in reaching a resolution.
Expertly lead issue troubleshooting, resolution, and post-mortem documentation and recommended next steps.
Participate in Disaster Recovery activities and routine system administration.
Ensure timely resolution to trouble tickets.
Ensure timely and effective follow up with customers and colleagues alike.
Troubleshooting System, Network and Application issues.
Publishes operational reporting of metrics around end user experience and system availability, based on management requirements.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Consistently interact professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees. Follow Medline%26rsquo;s Code of Ethics and other corporate policies.
Build, configure, and administer Windows Server Operating Systems on physical and virtual hardware.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Develop and or contribute to system runbook.

Job duties include:
Work directly with application owners to maximize system usage and functionality to best achieve their business objectives
Act as a liaison between application development teams and the customer to provide technical information and updates, advice customers on basic configuration and functionality questions.
Identify and document defect details
Monitor and resolve errors identified in automated system logs
Handle production outages and issues in a timely and effective manner
Triage, troubleshoot and resolve software issues at the application and database level.
Identify and escalate potential production issues to appropriate level
Manage a queue of incoming service requests and incidents.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
Experience/knowledge/skills/abilities
Experience installing, administering and troubleshooting Windows Server products in an Enterprise class environment
Experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, WINS, and DHCP environments
Experience administering multiple VMware ESXi, View/Horizon, SRM and vSphere environments
System Engineering experience, including .Net development
Low code and/or BPM platforms especially OutSystems, OpenText, Appian, OnBase, or K2
Monitoring and ticketing tools, i.e. Heat, ExtraHop, SolarWinds, App Dynamics, checkpoint smart console, SQL, PL/SQL, TSQL.
Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, SCOM and IIS.
Experience in workflow automation and script creation with focus on triggering, alerting, custom dashboards creation, users and groups, custom applications and analysis for troubleshooting issues
Strong ability to diagnose server or platform alerts, events or issues
Experience with VMWare VRops 6.x, VMware VSphere and VCenter, Windows server 2008, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, Linux RHEL6.x,7.x and Azure environments is a plus.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact with all levels of employees in a professional manner.

Operational knowledge of Symantec Enterprise Vault, Microsoft OCS/Lync, Microsoft SCCM/SCOM, and Commvault
Ability to test, implement and document multiple project tasks within aggressive timeframes.
Demonstrated ability to present areas of expertise to team members with guidance from lead/manager.
Demonstrated willingness and ability to improve performance and/or capabilities across all areas of responsibility utilizing formal and informal training to maintain skill sets.
Demonstrated solid verbal and written communication skills.
