Job Summary:

The Sr. Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing and maintaining CF Industries' credit function, which includes assisting in development, maintenance and implementation of credit policies and procedures intended to minimize the company's credit risks.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining credit and collection policies
  • Analyzes and reports on credit worthiness of customers and financial counterparties through credit applications, financial statements, and bank/trade reference contacts
  • Works with the Manager, Credit to establish credit levels and limits for all new customers
  • Monitors customer activity and recommends revisions to credit levels and limits as needed
  • Responsible for requesting credit support from vendors such as letters of credit, collateral, and parental guarantees when appropriate Investigates stopped orders due to credit issues and recommends resolutions in a timely manner
  • Responsible for making collection calls with respect to past due receivables
  • Oversees and maintains processes and procedures to meet departmental internal control requirements to ensure that established processes/procedures are followed as designed
  • Works with Internal Audit to identify deficiencies in existing processes/procedures and to implement solutions
  • Assists with preparing and issuing export financing letters of credit and other documents as necessary

Internal Controls:

Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.

Successful incumbents will have:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Prefer 5+ years of financial analyst or credit experience.

SAP experience preferred

Must be able to work within deadlines and outside regularly scheduled hours

Position Scope/Contribution:

This position is responsible for maintaining the credit risk associated with CF's sales revenue of approximately $4.5 billion. The Company has hundreds of agricultural and industrial customers that range in size from very large national companies to small private companies. The Sr Credit Analyst is responsible for periodic analysis of accounts to identify those that may require difficult collection procedures. The incumbent also performs investigations on new credit applications in order to obtain all of the necessary information to allow for a decision concerning credit acceptance or rejection.
