The Associate Director, Marketing will lead activities of the REXULTI commercial team as it relates to setting and reinforcing brand strategy of in-market indications in partnership with an alliance partner. This individual will also drive brand execution and brand performance as a leader across all HCP professional work streams within the team, in collaboration with cross functional partners, and through his or her own projects. This individual is responsible for developing direct reports through performance management, strategic and tactical Marketing skill development, and continually leading the team in striving toward executional excellence.  


People Leadership

  • Lead direct reports to strategic and operational excellence by ensuring coordination across the team and maximizing results for the brand
  • Manage direct reports across brand work streams including HCP strategy, sales strategies, non-personal promotion, brand communication to the sales force, and brand planning
  • Helps the team prioritize initiatives & activities, and coaches direct reports

HCP Marketing Strategy

  • Collaboratively leads development of brand strategy to drive brand performance by utilizing sound marketing principles, analytics, and available market research
  • Proactively considers/identifies new strategies and tactics, including virtual strategy and tactics, to challenge the team’s thinking and raise the level of performance, ultimately finding ways to do more with less
  • Establish strong strategic relationships with KOLs and the field sales organization to understand how best to communicate the value of the brand 
  • Works collaboratively with direct reports, leadership, and finance to build and manage the overall brand budget
  • For all initiatives, whenever possible, coaches team to establish ways to measure impact, reports results, and adjust plans accordingly
  • Proactively looks at brand performance and identifies areas of opportunity while also coaching direct reports on measuring brand performance

HCP Marketing Execution

  • Works closely together with Brand & Marketing leadership to plan and execute the strategic planning process
  • Works closely with sales and brand leadership to monitor the progress of the brand and adjust appropriately, when necessary, to increase revenue and achieve overall brand success
  • Development and execution of HCP strategy through sales meetings, promotional materials (including virtual resources), advisory boards, consultant meetings, non-personal promotion and direct to sales force communications
  • Ensures all marketing projects are compliant and have obtained necessary approvals through the appropriate medical, legal, and regulatory process

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence

  • Leads the brand planning process, including strategy and tactical planning, in collaboration with cross functional partners and alliance.  Establishes key performance indicators through collaboration with alliance and cross functional partners and monitors progress.
  • Establishes strong relationship with the alliance and influences alliance partners to ensure joint decision making that is sound and reasonable.
  • Establishes strong relationship with the Lundbeck Global team and ensures alignment on key aspects of the brand
  • Effective implementation of promotional materials and programs by providing appropriate direction to sales training and the field organization.
  • Develops cross-department support of the brand by coordinating with sales, sales training, market research, analytics, medical affairs, and public relations.
  • Collaborates directly with brand and sales leadership, sales training and sales teams, and other cross functional groups, to communicate brand strategy, ensure all groups are aligned with the brand Critical Success Factors, and monitors the progress of the brand.
  • Partners with Medical, Legal and Regulatory Affairs to communicate reasons for strategic and tactical plans and collaborates to successfully communicate brand information.



  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years sales, marketing or other relevant commercial or analytical experience
  • 4+ years pharmaceutical/medical/healthcare product brand marketing or other pharmaceutical/medical/healthcare product commercial leadership experience, including prior experience Marketing to HCPs
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills along with an ability to influence both within and outside the organization
  • Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong scientific/medical aptitude and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and build consensus
  • Demonstrated relationship development with the ability to work effectively independently and as a leader of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint



  • MBA or master’s degree
  • People leadership experience with direct reports in pharma marketing, sales, or a related pharma commercial function
  • Experience and knowledge of US marketing and brand management
  • Experience and knowledge within the area psychiatry
  • Experience and knowledge of depression and schizophrenia
  • Pharmaceutical sales and/or sales management experience
  • Experience working with alliance partners
  • Experience in development and execution of marketing promotional tactics
  • Marketing experience with a launch brand
  • Experience managing performance of an in-market brand
  • Background in biosciences as demonstrated on the job or through educational training
  • Budget management experience
  • Knowledge of the AMA, ACCME, PhRMA and FDA regulations associated with promotion and industry-supported scientific education activities



  • Willingness/Ability to travel approximately 25% domestically. International travel may be required.
