Job Description:
Alsum Farms & Produce is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated
Farm Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our
farm, ensuring effective management and implementation of
sustainable farming practices. The successful candidate will be
instrumental in maintaining our commitment to premium quality
produce, sustainability, and excellence in service. Oversee the
planting, cultivation, harvesting, and storage processes of
potatoes, onions, and other crops. Implement and monitor
sustainable farming practices that minimize environmental impact
while maximizing yield and quality. Manage and train farm staff,
ensuring all team members are aligned with the farm's standards and
safety regulations. Develop and manage the farm budget, including
monitoring expenses and revenues to maximize profitability.
Collaborate with research teams to assess the feasibility and
potential benefits of new agricultural techniques or products.
Liaise with suppliers, buyers, and other stakeholders to ensure
timely delivery of inputs and outputs. Regularly inspect equipment
and infrastructure, overseeing necessary repairs or upgrades.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
concerning farming, safety, and employment. Strong leadership and
people management skills Knowledge of sustainable agriculture
