Job Description Job Description To take a lead role on all
aspects of removals, collections, deliveries and installations of
personal effects, art and antiques under the management of
immediate operations and dispatch supervisor. Coordinate and take
charge of the installations whilst managing crews on site.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience High school diploma / GED
required. Three to five years of experience in the art handling
industry and in packing and driving on a local and interstate basis
Three to five years of logistical, warehousing and moving
experience An excellent and full comprehensive understanding of
inventory processes and the ability to handle art and antiques from
collection through to installation. The ability to lead an
installation and manage an on-site crew. The ability to manage
installations and train junior art handlers accordingly. The
ability to work as part of a team, as well as working independently
under instruction. Strong leadership skills Excellent
problem-solving skills Familiarity with OSHA regulations Excellent
organizational and time management skills Outstanding communication
and multitasking skills Fluency in both English & Spanish is a Plus
Ability to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition
reporting. Team player, able to work with all levels of staff in a
dynamic environment. Comfortable in a results-driven workplace
Experience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, J-bars,
dollies and other standard logistics equipment Ability to safely
lift 50 pounds and assist in the movement of objects of substantial
size and weight without damage to object or person, including the
ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart Ability to
stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and reach overhead.
Key Responsibilities Collections and deliveries, both local and
interstate, as required. Coordination of installation projects,
leading a team / crew Proper handling of art objects, fragile and
artistic material, antique and fine furniture Preparation of
condition checks and condition reports, as needed. Pack artworks,
antiquities and fine furniture for transportation and storage
Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job. Training
“junior” drivers and art handlers, when required. Handle and
control all paperwork when on site or working in the field,
including all condition reporting for goods. Ensure vehicle used is
always safe, clean and prepared for the day or trip as required,
verify what goods are needed at the start of every day or trip
based on the daily trip sheet or trip manifest. Ensure all
modifications to daily trip manifest are reported and verified by
the Dispatch Manager prior to making any modifications. On
occasion, you may be required to start your day or end your day at
a location other than Cadogan Tate listed above, in these instances
you are required to complete a manual time sheet and to have this
signed by the supervisor or your manager within 24 hours of the
start or end of the day. Supervisory Responsibilities Ensure crews
are always wearing their uniform while they are on company time.
Adhere to authorized break times. You are responsible to report
crew members who are not fulfilling their job role to the Dispatch
Manager Train new employees, as required. Ensure trucks are kept
clean, intact and safe for operation, report any damages to
Dispatch Manager, do not let crew leave rubbish in the trucks or
destroy the interior of the trucks. Check trucks thoroughly every
morning to ensure all material needed for the day is loaded.
Efficiently manage crews, including the time management of a job
Ensure crews complete time sheets. Always report to work promptly
and collect instructions for the day. Be a proactive leader using
your own initiative, when required.
