Corporate M&A Associate Attorney to join a global law firm in
Chicago. Direct Counsel has partnered with a leading international
law firm in seeking an associate to join its Corporate group in
Chicago. This opportunity is ideal for a transactional attorney
interested in working on sophisticated mergers and acquisitions for
both private and public companies. Position Overview: The firm is
seeking an associate with 3–7 years of corporate experience,
particularly in executing M&A transactions and drafting and
negotiating principal acquisition agreements. The role involves
working closely with clients and deal teams on complex transactions
from initial structuring through closing. Key Responsibilities:
Execute mergers and acquisitions transactions for private and
public companies Draft and negotiate principal acquisition
agreements and related transaction documents Conduct legal research
and analysis in support of transactions Manage and assist with
transactions from inception through closing Collaborate with
attorneys and business professionals across practice groups
Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive legal
support Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school Active
Illinois Bar admission 3–7 years of corporate transactional
experience Direct large law firm experience preferred Strong
academic credentials and immediately transferable transactional
skills Excellent drafting, analytical, organizational, and
communication skills Work Environment: Hybrid work arrangement with
regular in-office presence in Chicago. Compensation: $260,000 –
$420,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and
