Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An experienced Surgical Technician specialized in orthopedic procedures is needed for a contract position based in Chicago, IL. This opportunity involves working in a high-volume, 111-bed specialty hospital focused on orthopedic and spine care. The role requires expertise across a range of surgical techniques including general, hand, foot/ankle, sports medicine, total joint robotics, and solid spine orthopedic surgery. Familiarity with robotic systems such as Mako, Rosa, and Cori is essential for thriving in this fast-paced environment. Location: Situated in Chicago, this position places you within a vibrant metropolitan area known for its rich cultural scene, diverse culinary options, and excellent public transportation. Living and working here offers a dynamic urban lifestyle with plenty of amenities and recreational activities nearby. Candidates must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital. Key Responsibilities: Assist surgical teams during orthopedic and spine surgeries Support robotic-assisted procedures using advanced systems (Mako, Rosa, Cori) Maintain sterile environment and surgical instruments Respond promptly to on-call requests with a minimum 2-hour callback Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or equivalent in surgical tech roles Proficient in general, hand, foot/ankle, sports medicine surgeries, and total joint-robotics Experience with solid spine orthopedic procedures NBSTSA certification preferred but not mandatory Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to work a 10-hour day shift plus rotating call, weekend, and holiday coverage Schedule: 10-hour day shifts with call rotation Weekend and holiday call on rotation This contract role offers exposure to complex orthopedic surgery in a busy specialty hospital. Orientation begins once credentialing is complete. Credentials including drug screening, CBC, and TB test (Tspot/QuantiFERON) must be current within 90 days of start date.
