Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Addiction
Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting individuals struggling
with substance use disorders. This position focuses on providing
comprehensive assessments, developing personalized treatment plans,
and facilitating group and individual counseling sessions. The
counselor will work closely with clients to help them understand
their addiction, develop coping strategies, and achieve their
recovery goals. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with
other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure a
holistic approach to treatment. Ultimately, the Addictions
Counselor aims to empower clients to lead healthier, more
productive lives free from addiction. Minimum Qualifications: Must
have an Associate's Degree Continuing education in Alcohol/Chemical
Abuse Treatment, and/or completed a minimum of sixty (60) hours
field field-related seminars Two years of minimum work experience
with the population served and/or case management. Must be at least
21 years of age. Current CADC is needed. Responsibilities: Recruit
eligible clients in conjunction with Addictions Counselors, Program
Managers, and the SUD Department Director. Assist in the recovery
plan development of clients receiving alcoholism and other drug
counseling. Conduct the intake process of clients in the absence of
or unavailability of the Addictions Counselors. Participate in
clinical staff meetings to assess each client's appropriateness for
continued stay in the assigned level of care or discharge. Provide
individualized case management and group education sessions to
prepare clients in transitioning from community housing to
independent living.
