Registered Nurse (RN) | Charge Nurse Location: Oak Lawn, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,187 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: OR/CVOR RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of acute care experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Ability to scrub and circulate adult or pediatric open-heart cases Critical care experience Experience in a Level 1 trauma setting EPIC experience Description: The facility is a Level I Trauma Center. It is recognized as Magnet Designated. The unit has 28 beds, with 2 hybrid rooms for CV/Vascular. The average patient census is 60-75 cases per day. The unit manages outpatient and inpatient cases, including trauma cases. Common diagnoses include GSW, stabbings, kidney and heart transplants, donor cases, general surgeries, gynecological surgeries, urology, robotics, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, open hearts, and CABG. The hybrid room sees between 5-10 cases per day, depending on scheduled cases. Adult cases include TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions. 20% of cases are pediatric, including open hearts, appendectomies, and cholecystectomies. There are no liver or lung transplants performed. Participation in Gifts of Hope cases is required. Charge nurses have no patient assignments on weekdays but can assist on weekends and evenings. There is bedside monitoring by anesthesiologists and support from resource nurses, surgeons, educators, and service line representatives. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. IV Pumps and medication dispensing systems are used within the unit. There is no floating to other units. The operating room is open 24/7, 365 days a year. During weekdays, the operating hours are from 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM, with a skeleton crew for trauma and urgent cases after hours. Weekend hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a similar skeleton crew in the evenings. All requests for time off must be submitted in advance, and holiday coverage is required. On-call responsibilities are based on shifts and service lines, with a 30-minute response time required. Sleeping accommodations are available for on-call team members. Scrub color is provided.
