Deliver expert nursing care in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center located in Chicago, IL, specializing in operating room support. This contract opportunity calls for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in perioperative procedures to contribute to a multidisciplinary team providing urgent and specialized surgical care. Work a consistent day shift schedule with opportunities for occasional weekend engagements, maintaining work-life balance while excelling in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert perioperative nursing care including scrub and circulating duties. Collaborate with surgical teams in Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery. Float within facility scope to support varying surgical service lines as needed. Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures. Adhere to facility policies, including mandatory floating requirements. Utilize Cerner for comprehensive patient charting accuracy. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in an OR setting. Strong proficiency in Level 1 Trauma surgical environments. BLS certification required. Experience across multiple specialties such as Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology highly preferred. Skilled in both scrub and circulate roles. Locals preferred, living within a 75-mile radius of Chicago for quick and easy commuting. Schedule and Shift Details: Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. One 12-hour weekend shift per month (Saturday or Sunday) with flexible hours. Weekend responsibilities every other weekend, totaling two weekends per month. Time-off guidelines restrict RTO to five days maximum with no more than two consecutive days and no holiday or weekend RTO allowed.
