Job Summary:Prescribe your Future: Join our Medical Team!University Health Services (UHS) is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our primary care team. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support for the student population at UW-Madison.This position provides 100% direct clinical care to the UW student population and will operate mainly in the Primary Care clinic.

• Start date can be flexible based on situation.Responsibilities: Provides health care services under a collaborative care agreement with physician. Educates patients, develops and evaluates care plans, and prescribes medications and treatments in support of patient health and well-being.
  • 40% Assesses, diagnoses, and treats illnesses, and manages chronic health problems
  • 15% Develops, implements, collects data, and evaluates primary health care services as directed by individual care plans
  • 20% Develops individualized care plans based on medical assessments in accordance with medical best practices and established rules and regulations
  • 15% Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them

    • 2 years of post-training clinical experience
    • Experience providing clinical assessment and treatment for acute illnesses, injuries, chronic problems, preventive care, and health counseling in an ambulatory setting.Preferred
      • Experience in Primary Care (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) or Urgent Care
      • Experience working with college students or young adults
      • Experience diagnosing and treating anxiety and depression
      • Experience in evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries
