The certified surgical assistant must have the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members. The certified surgical assistant must also maintain a professional attitude with respect to dignity, privacy, and safety of patients. The certified surgical assistant will provide services in licensed hospitals and ambulatory treatment centers.Being a Duly Surgical Technologist includes the following incentives:No Call or WeekendsWe strive to attain a work/life balance for our staff members, the facility is closed on the 6 major holidays.Comprehensive benefits package that meets the needs of you and your family.Continual support from our collaborative clinical and administrative leadership team.Opportunity to grow within the company, including opportunities as a Lead, Supervisor, and Manager.Partner within the community on paid volunteer days.Responsibilities:The Surgical Technologist works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in accordance with the Standards of Practice and within the guidelines of the Illinois Nurse Practice ActThe Surgical Technologist is responsible for establishing and maintaining a sterile field, a safe patient care environment, and appropriate supplies/equipment as required for the operative procedure.Assists surgical team preparing for, during and after surgery.Prepares operating room for surgery.Acts as scrub person during surgery by performing a combination of tasks as directed by the surgical team.Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and suppliesAssists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.Qualifications: EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a Surgical Technologist approved program.CPR; BLSEXPERIENCE:1-3 years Surgical Tech experience
