Job Description:
This position is responsible for the overall ownership and
direction of the agency's claim operations, technical, operational,
and financial administration management supporting Allied Solutions
Commercial Insurance Agency's Commercial Claims department. This
leader will have a mastery level of experience in the technical
aspects of the Commercial Claims loss experience. The position will
require strong to mastery level leadership competencies that will
develop and deliver a result-driven operation and culture of
financial success for Commercial Claims product and service. The
position will require a deep level of expertise in commercial
property & casualty, financial institution bond coverages and
policies.

Responsible for annualized loss and claim projections set by the
carrier.
This position will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring,
investigating claim related decisions and losses associated with
property and casualty claims, and managing and handling client and
insurance carrier related responsibilities. These responsibilities
will include reporting, tracking, and monitoring losses and
premiums to ensure a financially optimized Commercial Claims
program. This position will be required to foster relationships and
provide key leadership communication with a wide variety of
stakeholders at varying levels and roles, including but not limited
to, Senior and Executive levels, sales professionals, financial
institution clients and insurance carrier product and program
management.
This position will oversee the program's financial profitability,
focused on key financial metrics including loss reserves and claim
frequency and severity KPI's.
Commercial Claims Program Financial Optimization (25%)
This position will ensure the overall optimization of the
Commercial Claims Program
Develop and Deploy claim strategies that will ensure the financial,
quality and service KPI's (key performance indicators) for
commercial claims department & claims the department manages.
Develop, deploy and work with stakeholders to create key monitors
and controls, trending analysis, reporting, and program management
that ensures all actions and activities are performing in a manner
that optimizes program performance.
Deliver meeting and communication cadence with key stakeholders
including sales, clients, and carriers to ensure performance
monitoring and performance socialization.
Develop and communicate loss projections that feed into overall
program performance to minimize losses.
Develop and communicate internal reporting and trending analysis to
ensure internal senior management and executive management
monitoring of the overall Commercial Claims Bond Program.
Work with sales leadership on key products and claim benefits that
can serve as sales tools and program benefits for purposes of
revenue and client growth.
Serve as the industry and market SME for Commercial Claims Product
to applicable audiences.
Ensure timely and accurate claim reserve actions that feed the
financial performance for the program.
This position must have mastery level management of optimized loss
mitigation and management.
Liaison and direct actions and collaborative outcomes for Product
and Risk departments.
Commercial Claims Management (25%)
Provide leadership to the team and ensure the accurate and timely
adjudication of Commercial Claims. Ensure that the claim and loss
adjudication process is compliant and meets all regulatory, state
and policy conditions. Investigate, oversee, and monitor all
Financial Institution segment claims ensuring partners/carriers
timely and accurate processing.
Develop and implement, with Risk Management department, an
effective claims control process to minimize risk and maximize
efficiency.
Provide guidance and mentorship to direct reports, demonstrating
your proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing
team.
Act as subject matter expert and go-to resource for clients
regarding complex Commercial Claims.
Develop, direct, and deploy claims operational practices to ensure
that our partners/insurance carriers meet all regulatory state
filing and policy and carrier administrative requirements.
Develop and deploy claim best practices and claim key performance
indicators to ensure the accurate and timely resolution of bond
claims in partnership with carrier partners.
Develop and deploy the appropriate and effective audit and claim
review process to ensure all factors are considered and applied to
complex claim scenarios.
Develop and deploy claim experience reporting as required for
trending and tracking of claim/loss performance per client, per
business and segment and overall, for the Commercial Claims
program.
Assist policyholders (clients, sales) on claims issues with
carriers. (Denial disputes, coverage issues, lack of contact,
follow up on individual claims to ensure the carrier is handling in
a timely manner when requested.) Review carrier coverage
positions/claim denials.
Subject matter expert to be able to manage a large variety of
coverages in a very niche market
KEY Stakeholder Communication, Program Reporting, and
Administration (15%)
Analyze market and economic trends and determine areas of
improvement in key products and programs.
Subject matter expert utilized in publications, consulting with
risk management, podcasts,
Notify Risk Management and Account Managers/Executives of claim
issues, large losses, loss trends and policyholder complaints.
Onboard new clients to ensure all new and existing clients receive
WC & Plastic Card Claims Kits.
Schedule and provide claims training with policyholders.
Lead and deploy quarterly product and program manager claim
trending and loss experience meetings.
Insurance Carrier Management (15%)
Monitor Insurance Carrier performance including loss performance
including loss ratio, quality of product and policy offerings and
service levels to key stakeholders and clients.
Lead quarterly claims meetings with carriers and ensure carrier
action plans are documented and monitored.
Assess the performance of claims experience, profitability, and
performance to advise carrier on their policies.
Assess and advise division leadership on the performance among
carriers for the purpose of ensuring profitability.
Develop new carrier relationships to establish a collaborative
business relationship, as needed.
Team Management (20%)
Supervise, coach, and support team; providing guidance on
commercial claims methodologies, best practices, and career
development.
Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization and
balance workload across the team. Identify resource gaps and work
with HR to recruit and onboard new team members.
Train and develop team members to improve quality and service,
while promoting cross-training and succession planning.
Handle all other personnel matters involving direct reports,
including recruiting, separations, time off, performance
evaluations, and rewards recommendations.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education required.
Property & casualty license required
Adjusters license preferred.
Insurance designations preferred.
8 - 10 years of relevant work experience required.
5 - 6 years of leadership experience required.
