Job Description:
The Vice President, Engineering is a proven technology leader with a successful track record of partnering with key stakeholders to deliver innovative technology platforms in a high-transaction, mission-critical environment. Plays a significant role in bridging the gap between business, Business Technology and analytics by consistently leveraging data to deliver cutting edge results. This leader creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
What You'll Do

• 
  Responsible for designing database and decision platforms and executing such designs at production scale
  
  
• 
  Creates, models and implements new data architecture and analytics solutions.
  
  
• 
  Manages and maintains production data warehouses, functional data marts, workspace for and system administration of large-scale, hybrid, iterative analytics environments.
  
  
• 
  Develops scalable, innovative approaches to extracting, managing and analyzing data.
  
  
• 
  Builds, leads and manages Discover's Data & Analytics Applications team to drive successful implementation of new data solutions.
  
  
• 
  Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop and implement an overall vision and strategic direction for the Data & Analytics Application group and defining quality from a technological perspective.
  
  
  Qualifications You'll Need:
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or Engineering required.
    
    
  • 
    Master's degree in business, Information Technology or Engineering preferred.
    
    
  • 
    10+ years of experience in application development, computer systems, software development, programming, or platform development or related required.
    
    
  • 
    12+ years of experience in application development, computer systems, software development, programming, or platform development or related preferred.
    
    
  • 
    In Lieu of education, 12+ years of experience application development, computer systems, software development, programming, or platform development or related required.
    
    
  • 
    Strong Engineering and Technical expertise in building Enterprise platform preferred.
    
    
  • 
    Experience designing and implementing reusable capabilities in cloud preferred.
    
    
  • 
    Experience creating a federated model deployment framework.
    
    
  • 
    Ability to act as solutions/design engineering lead when designing next gen solution architecture.
