& SafetyJob Summary:This role is a member of the business unit
leadership team, and reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsible for the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS)
functions, this position will define and execute the strategy for
success of the noted functions as applicable to the organization.
The position will ensure that the reporting teams are effectively
accountable for their areas of specialization - Environmental
Engineering, Process Safety Management (PSM), Safety, and Emergency
Response - including compliance of those functions. Role will also
act as a partner to leadership and operations management on
ensuring each facility is complying with all federal, state and
local regulations concerning environmental, health and safety
matters. Preparing an ongoing strategy for EHS will be a recurring
objective for this position, which will be focused on continued
transformation and optimization of the safety culture.Job
Description:
- Defines and manages strategic goals and objectives for the
organization
- Identifies and establishes leading key performance indicators
that drive the EHS culture
- Assists in implementing Risk Management Plan & Emergency
Response Training
- Responsible for annual HAZWOPER training and activities
- Manages Health Services Program, including fitness for duty or
other activities related to employee health
- Assists sites with external inspections, EHS and PSM audits and
supports responses to applicable findings (including follow-up
responses/action planning)
- Develops and maintains all EHS programs and PSM Programs per
requirements
- Maintains appropriate reference files of existing installations
and their current status regarding compliance with federal, state,
and local regulatory laws
- Oversees the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), led by the
underlying Safety team
- Reviews, approves, and maintains files of all EHS Incident
Reports
- Ensures incident investigation(s) are conducted according to
EHS Management Manual requirements
- Represents the business unit at regulatory meetings, legal
actions and legislative meetings
- Represents the business unit on the appropriate councils and
subcommittees, both internal and external to CF Industries
- Acts as one of three Secondary Crisis Communications
Responders
- Maintains the EHS group budget according to administrative
procedures
- Assists with the selection of Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE) and appropriation of, if necessary, for the assigned business
unitRequirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of work experience in EHS, with
a minimum of 5 years in people management within the function
- Excellent understanding of EHS issues; ammonia handling and
storage, or EHS compliance experience preferred
- Proven experience to enhance a culture of safety and compliance
within a distributed workforce or organization
- Willing and able to travel extensively (up to 40%)
- PSM Program technical knowledge
- Applicable EHS certifications or demonstrated training
experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading Observation Based Safety
(OBS) initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in Human Performance Risk (HPR)
initiatives
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- PC literate within a Windows environment, knowledgeable of
spreadsheets, databases and word processing software
- Basic working knowledge of environmental regulations and
applications of pollution abatement equipment and procedures
- Ability and initiative to act independently, and appropriately
