Vernon Hills, IL, United States JOB PURPOSE: The Vice President/Sr. Director of Strategic Pricing will drive overall pricing strategy and execution discipline at the company. This individual will lead a team which works closely with Sales and Product Management to ensure price setting is developed in a strategic manner at a product and customer level, analytics-driven pricing and trade promotion opportunities are identified, price plans are executed to the fullest potential, and pricing and trade promotion performance is tracked and diagnosed for action. Our hybrid work environment includes two (2) remote days/week . RESPONSIBILITIES Develop key pricing initiatives aligned with Rust-Oleum's growth and profitability goals of delivering 10%+ CAGR or 3X market pace (whichever is greater) for each business segment and platform. Build and maintain a culture of pricing excellence in the organization by communicating opportunities for improvement with leadership team. Develop a high-level understanding of the product markets that Rust-Oleum operates in and work with Product Management to translate this knowledge into how products are priced in the market. Act as a custodian of the pricing strategy and refresh as needed based on changing market dynamics and company performance. Provide subject matter expertise on pricing strategy and execution, trade promotion and co-op marketing investments. Work closely with business partners within Finance, Sales, Product Management, and other divisions on pricing decisions, opportunities, and impact of price moves on customer volume. Develop price management framework and process to optimize value of each customer relationship. Own and drive the end-to-end Pricing process for the organization spanning opportunity identification, planning, execution and price tracking. Act as an advisor to Sales/Product Managers on pricing specific customer segments, e.g., pricing the tail-end customers, revisiting pricing for contract customers. Drive the team around developing and enhancing data-driven pricing tools; enforce the use of pricing tools and reports by the business teams. Establish business processes to ensure price/margin related business rules are enforced and track compliance on an ongoing basis. Enable Sales leaders to effectively execute price changes by supporting deal negotiations with collateral and negotiation expertise. Provide team oversight to the pricing implementation processes and systems. Ensure the development and alignment of trade spend for promotional agreements and growth rebate programs executed for all accounts. Manage a pricing team comprised of Pricing Strategy, Key Account Pricing and Pricing Analytics and Administration team members, providing them the right operating model to work in sync. QUALIFICATIONS Education: 4-year BS degree in business, finance, economics or other related discipline with an MBA being an added advantage. Experience: 12+ years of relevant professional experience and a track record of achieving results in pricing strategy and pricing data analytics, trade promotion, digital initiatives, pricing transformation support, tracking of price and trade promotion performance. A subject matter expert on Product Pricing or Pricing Strategy, trade promotion and co-op marketing investments. Have experience working in a matrixed environment to drive impact. Strong financial skills to utilize decision support systems to interface with the Sales and Marketing organizations to drive specific action plans and programs. Leader with a passion for people with the ability to exert formal and informal influence across functions. Analytic and strategic thinking skills, with ability to digest complex information and make data-driven decisions. Strong decision making and prioritization skills, especially when multiple trade-offs are involved, and faster decisions are required.
