JOB PURPOSE:
The Director of Global Commercialization is responsible for the
broad set of activities required to drive and complete strategic
product development and launch initiatives for regions and entities
outside of the US and Canada. The position project manages all
strategic initiatives that are part of our International Team's
(EMEA, LAM, APAC) 5-year strategic plans coordinating across
functions and ensuring timely and successful completion of the
projects. The role will develop and implement project management
best practices and establish process discipline as well as a global
mindset across the US-based Product Management function. This
position is an integral part of the larger Product Management
teamand reports into the Vice President of Product Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Initiatives Execution
- Lead strategic projects to support the growth and profitability
of Consumer Group International with goal to deliver 10%+ CAGR or
3X market pace (whichever is greater) for assigned business segment
and platform.
- Manage and execute selected large scale/strategic projects
envisaged in the 3-5 year CGI long term strategic plan including
inorganic portfolio expansion
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track the
progress of the initiatives
- Plan schedule and budget, set deadlines, monitor quality and
progress, and manage budgets
- Estimate P&L impact of selected strategic initiatives and
track P&L impact during execution
- Build partnerships and collaboration with cross-functional
teams including Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing to
ensure timely execution of projects
- Communicate project results, risks, and issues
- Perform risk management analysis to mitigate risks
- Promote company and product strengths, educate on company and
product benefits and help build sales stories and strategies that
will be effective in their relevant marketplace
- Provide relevant and valuable product and brand performance
feedback to the US managers including RO operational experts in
quality, distribution and manufacturing. -
- Work closely with other VH functions, such as customer service
and finance as needed to help grow International sales
- Act as a corporate presenter, meeting developer for
International customer and stakeholder visitors
- On occasion, as requested by regions and entities, participate
in local sales or strategy meetings
- New Product Introduction
- Drive the execution of the new product introduction envisaged
in the portfolio evolution plan
- Own and manage stage gate system, including training and
continuous improvement, focused on rapidly bringing innovative
products to the market
- Coordinate with Product Management and Marketing colleagues to
create launch plans around marketing, branding and channel
usage
- Work closely with R&D, Supply Chain and Operations on
technical and human resource allocation necessary for timely new
product development
- Create and maintain a comprehensive documentation of the
complete process
- Track project costs in order to meet budget and evaluate the
changes in ROI due to changes in project scope or timeline
- People Management
- Manage direct report(s) on day-to-day activities including
planning & allocating tasks as required in collaboration with
senior leaders.
- Coach and mentor staff, ensure employee development, maintain a
positive employee relations environment, and develop project
management best practices that propagate throughout the
organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: 4-year BS degree in business or engineering related
discipline
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in project management and
operations functions
- Proficiency in SAP and other businesses
- Understanding of the product commercialization
process/documentation and information sharing needs and
protocols
- Multilingual capabilities a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a
plus
- Analytic and strategic thinking skills, with ability to digest
complex information and make data-driven decisions
- Passionate problem solver and creative thinker, with ability to
pitch new ideas and be open to feedback
- Dynamic and agile: Ability to think in a creative and strategic
way but are adept at delivering operationally to ensure tasks are
followed through to completion. Ability to work efficiently and
flexibly to deliver results
- Strong decision making and prioritization skills, especially
when multiple trade-offs are involved, and faster decisions are
required
- Empathy and good listening skills to understand the needs/pain
points of your customers/ stakeholders
- Excellent ability to effectively facilitate requirement
gathering/elicitation sessions with senior business leaders/
stakeholders
- Travel will be less than 5% annually for market reviews,
customer presentations, trade shows, etc. though there will be the
occasional customer visits requiring after hours hosting and
entertaining. -

operational complexities
