Job Summary
Provides leadership and indirectly manages team(s) responsible for
developing and implementing processes and programs across Walgreens
Health Clinical teams. Identifies, evaluates and resolves business
issues. Defines process and operational improvements for assigned
work area. Works to resolve high-level, abstract problems across
areas within specified area of expertise. Works cross-functionally
to direct operational activities within the organization. Ensures
that processes, policies, and procedures are revised and
implemented to address any operational issues that are identified.
Creates Dashboards to monitor and track team performance against
deliverables. Knowledge and understanding of healthcare (managed
care, clinical, pharmaceutical) products and services, store/field
operations, and contracts and their respective business issues and
potential opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages and oversees efforts of others in the achievement of
the strategic and operational objectives for the specified area of
responsibility. Identifies, develops and implements appropriate
approaches, processes, and tools that elevate the processes of the
functional teams within Clinical. Ensures policies and procedures
are revised and implemented to address any operational issues that
are identified.
- Supports mid and long-term planning through the identification
and creation of initiatives that further Walgreens Health Clinical
overall goals
- Creates collateral (presentations, playbooks) to support the
clinical team achieve operational goals
- Coordinates across teams to foster exchange of ideas and
provide cross-team learning opportunities
- Assesses and analyzes budgets and projected costs to find ways
to minimize expenses and optimize return on value
- Inspires and motivates team members to perform at their best
through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives
- Facilitates ongoing communication and transparency with
leadership about shifting company priorities, projects, risks, and
dependencies
- Identifies potential problems and points of friction within
processes and programs, and develops paths for solutions in order
to maximize efficiency and revenue
- Identifying opportunities to expand or shift course to take
advantage of changes in the market
- Applies knowledge and understanding of healthcare insurance and
managed care industry products and services and knowledge of retail
operations and/or pharmacy operations.
- Oversees a governance of operational processes including
periodic status calls, quarterly performance reviews, annual
business planning, change order reviews and Third Party budgets/
costs.
- Conducts periodic meetings/ calls with internal departments to
address administration issues, and coordinates resolution as
required.
- Ensures operational commitments are adhered to and takes
necessary proactive measures before key milestones are missed.
Manages the implementation process for all Walgreens Health and
Transformation programs, while balancing partner needs and company
objectives to ensure a successful/positive implementation for both
parties.
- Shares information cross-functionally to improve processes.
Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers /
vendors to share information and improve cross-departmental
processes.
- Manages problems and issues pro-actively.
- Executes on business goals for the group. Anticipates
process-centric, people-centric, and operations-centric ideas,
issues and opportunities to move the business forward.
- Supports budget development for functional area. Manages budget
to plan and is responsible for meeting/delivering against budgetary
goals and objectives.
- Makes recommendations regarding the operating plans for a
designated area, then, based on prevailing conditions may realign
the daily operations of assigned area.
- Influences individuals within and outside the Department.
Prepares and presents reports to all levels of leadership and
staff.
- Stays abreast of industry leading best practices and brings
them to the attention of the leadership team for possible
application. Develops and leverages partnerships (and
relationships) with internal and external stakeholders to meet

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of business Operations
experience OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of business
Operations experience
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify
issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and
find solutions.
- Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and
implementing strategies to resolve problems.
- Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using
AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered
page and/or creating a pivot table).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example:
creating and modifying text styles, numbering and sorting lists,
working with sections and columns, formatting tables, and using
templates and using diagrams and drawing tools)
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example:
creating presentations, adding and removing slides, entering and
formatting text, applying design templates, modifying masters,
inserting graphics and objects, creating handouts).
- Experience with large scale project management (for example:
planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the
successful completion of specific project goals and
objectives).
- Experience developing strategic initiatives that align with
business goals and budget.
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial
decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership
and/or cross-functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes
(within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, MPH, MHA
- PMP
- Experience working in healthcare payer operations.
- Experience working in management consulting.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional
teams
