Position Summary: The Associate Director, Data Governance is responsible for supporting the strategy and direction, establishing governance and for effective management of data, analytics, and reporting. This role supports the requirements for the commercial team by providing technical and thought leadership for data evaluation, acquisition and integration, information storage and management, and reports & applications by making the information easily accessible to the users and bringing in best practices. This role is responsible for developing data strategy and vision for building the data ecosystem to evaluate, acquire, integrate, and consume data that drive commercial insights. Establishing data governance by defining how to make data available, usable, and integral with current ecosystem. Responsible for ensuring robust and well-vetted data to deliver the single version of truth to the organization. Robustly evaluate new data sources to improve the data offerings and work with the matrix team to get the data in-house. Develop and implement service level agreement, get the data into systems and mastered. Reviewing and modifying as necessary all existing business rules within the multiple systems as well as developing new business rules as necessary. Developing change request processes, analyze change requests, identify implementation alternatives and implementation impact. Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new data sources to improve the data offerings and work with the matrix team to get the data in-house
  • Develop and implement service level agreement, get the data into systems and mastered
  • Review and modify as necessary all existing business rules within the multiple systems as well as developing new business rules as necessary
  • Develop change request processes, analyze change requests, identify implementation alternatives and implementation impact Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
    • B.A. or B.S. Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
    • 10+ years of related experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotech industry, including significant buy and bill product experience
    • 5+ years of related experience in healthcare analytics is critical, preferably in Data, Data Governance, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Analytics, , etc.
    • 5+ years in Data Governance and Pharma Data experience
    • Recent launch experience and entry into new therapeutic areas strongly preferred
    • Strong understanding and experience with pharmaceutical (including specialty (SP/SD), claims, hub, patient level, physician level, EMR, EHR, switch clearing house, payer, PBM, aggregator, etc.) data sets, analytical approaches, research methods and ability to present results to key stakeholders
    • Deep understanding of pharma Data Governance and Pharma Data Sources/Data Vendors
    • Familiarity with data reporting and visualization tools
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to translate complex reports and analyses into easy to understand presentations; proven ability to effectively present results to internal clients at the executive level
    • Business Acumen - ability to link multiple insights across brands and channels to generate insights, prioritize business questions and develop effective recommendations
    • Proven record of success in working with cross-functional teams (e.g., managed markets, pricing, analytics, sales, marketing) ; demonstrated ability to successfully influence multiple levels of an organization, both internally and externally
    • Strong attention to detail combined with a keen ability to recognize issues in the context of higher-level policies and regulations
    • Strong leadership, planning and organization, analytics, decision-making and problem-solving skills; focus on delivery of results
    • Strong interpersonal and peer leadership skills to influence without authority; ability to work cross-functionally in a highly dynamic environment with a high sense of urgency
    • Self-starter who functions well both independently and within a team
    • Experience successfully managing budgets
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent presentation and power point skills
