Job Summary:

The Director, User Experience is responsible for planning and directing the End User Experience Information Technology activities of the organization.

The Technology areas include Microsoft 365, Endpoint Configuration Management, Mobility and the Enterprise Service Desk. The incumbent is responsible for providing vision and direction enabling IT to achieve strategic technology and business objectives. Particular focus on the use of information technologies that foster collaboration between CF employees, external customers and suppliers. This position provides a leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department and is viewed as the internal information technology subject matter expert.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

• Represents the perspective of the end user computing experience as part of a collaborative team of IT Directors when developing the strategic direction
• Brings a current knowledge and future vision of technology as related to the Company's business initiatives
• Determines long-term corporate-wide information needs and develops an appropriate User Experience strategy
• In conjunction with appropriate business management, develops and maintains professional communications with internal customers and vendors to enhance business relationships and information systems integration
  Information Systems Development, Implementation & Support
  
  • Directs and coordinates the information technology planning and implementation, including all phases of system design, programming, installation and operations for the User Experience technology products.
  • Directs the support of existing systems, ensures that operational problems are solved in a timely fashion and that the technology performance levels meet or exceed the users' business requirements
    Information Technology Governance
    
    • Conducts feasibility studies, time and cost estimates for the establishment and implementation of new systems or programs and prepares progress reports on the status of projects to coordinate activities and ensures project deadlines are met within budget
    • Ensures core IT project management practices are followed to include: project management portfolio management prioritization, enterprise architecture and quality assurance processes
      Control
      
      • Sets policies and procedures, technical standards, methods, and priorities
      • Maintains logical and physical security of all computer resources
      • Responsible for backup and disaster recovery capability for User Experience technology products to ensure business continuity and consistency with other business recovery plans
      • Ensures integrity of corporate data, proprietary information and related intellectual property through information security and access management
        Organization, Administration and Personnel Management
        
        • Assess, develops, retains, and recruits IT talent that will support the ongoing needs of the business
        • Directs and assigns personnel; devises and evaluates the staff's work; and prepares performance evaluations
        • Organizes and coordinates IT educational programs for corporate management and staff
        • Negotiates and maintains business relationships with all appropriate vendors and consultants
        • Reviews and negotiates software license agreements and contracts with vendors
        • Prepares and monitors application and plant departmental budgets to ensure cost effective use of all resources
        • Reports to senior management on information technology plans, projects, performance and related matters
          Internal Controls:
          
          Establishes and implements processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements. Ensures that established processes/procedures are followed as designed. Works with Internal Controls Department to identify deficiencies in existing processes/procedures, the need for new ones, and the extent to which such processes/procedures are being followed. Develops and implements corrective actions with regard to department internal controls as necessary.
          
          Successful incumbents will have:
          
          • Degree in Information Technology - MBA preferred
          • 10+ years of information technology management experience with previous roles as a Director, IT or Manager of Managers
          • Experience with Microsoft 365 to include implementation and production support.
          • Experience effectively evangelizing the application of mobile devices, portals, intranets and social platforms to foster collaboration, employee engagement and business efficiencies in an industrial company.
          • Proven strategic planning, personnel management and project management skills
          • Excellent communication and managerial abilities in dealing with upper management, users, staff, peers and vendors.
          • Ability to relate technical matters to non-technical users and business matters to technical staff
            Position Scope/Contribution:
            
            This position has responsibility for preparing and monitoring a $10M+ budget and 15+ employees and/or subcontract personnel. The Director User Experience is responsible for business and technical systems that are critical to the company's daily activity.
