Technician Job Description The Gauge Calibration Technician is a
full-time, onsite position responsible for procuring, tracking,
maintaining, and calibrating mechanical and electrical measurement
devices used throughout the facility. Responsibilities Acquire
measurement devices as requested by Quality, Engineering, or
Manufacturing teams. Interpret engineering drawings to determine
appropriate device classification. Assign and mark devices with
unique identification numbers. Prepare devices for use on the
production floor following established procedures. Troubleshoot and
repair measurement devices as needed. Assist in determining
suitable measurement methods for non-standard requirements.
Maintain accurate location and status records for all measurement
devices. Issue devices to manufacturing prior to the start of
production. Perform scheduled verification and/or calibration of
all devices. Document verification and calibration results per
procedure. Report non-conforming devices to the appropriate
personnel. Follow all required safety practices. Perform additional
duties as assigned. Essential Skills Completion of a one-year
technical program OR three to six months of relevant
experience/training OR an equivalent combination of education and
experience. Ability to calibrate precision measuring devices
including micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Blueprint reading and
quality control. Additional Skills & Qualifications Calibration
experience and skills in blueprint reading. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover Park, IL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 -
$26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may
depend on your job classification and length of employment.
